Lucien Henri Grandgerard (1880-1970), was born in Nancy in 1880, where he became a student at the School of Fine Arts. He moved to Paris where he entered the workshop of Bonnat. He was a student of Jules Lefebvre, and Luc Oilivier Merson. He also attended the Jullian academy.
