Flowers in a stone vase - Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer (1636-1699)

Oil on canvas

We'd like to thank dr. Fred Meijer for his attribution.

Jean-Baptiste Monnoyer was a Franco-Flemish painter who specialized in flower pieces. He also produced cartoons of fruit and flowers for the tapestry-weavers. Monnoyer's flower pieces were painted with botanical accuracy, and served decorative designers for decades.
