17th Century, Italian Baroque Carved Giltwood Frame
Measures: cm L 103 x H 116 x P 8; light cm L 61.5 x H 77; stop cm L 66 x H 82
This important baroque frame was made in Italy in the seventeenth century in finely carved and gilded wood.
The frame is composed of several concentric sections differently decorated by very refined and complex carvings, with low relief openwork ornaments of great technical skill and difficult to make. The original gilding is particularly valuable and impressive.
Among the ornate, the outer band has a bell-shaped decoration and floral motifs, while the larger and central one has an articulated composition of branches with flowers and fruits that intertwine and overlap, creating a rich and particular effect of movement.
In good condition, small defects and shortcomings are reported along the perimeter of the frame.
Particularly decorative, of pleasant format and very bright, the frame can be placed in any environment, suitable combined with ancient but also modern works. With the addition of a mirror you can turn into a mirror.
