Study of a tiger waiting for its prey, excellent finishing of the details with original patina.

Chiseled and worked in solid bronze with double-colored fur details and mustache in relief.

Signed Atsuyoshi ? ? saku with Maruki shachu seisaku ? ? ? trademark.

Atsuyoshi is a master known for his finely modeled bronze studies of animals. He worked for the Maruki company, active during the Meiji period (1868-1912) in Japan which is distinguished by the finesse and the considerable weight of his sculptures and is considered as one of the best producers of bronzes.
