Chest of drawers stamped B. Péridiez

Exceptional chest of drawers curved on three sides. It rests on four arched legs and opens on the front with two drawers in two rows with hidden crosspieces. The chest of drawers is inlaid with amaranth, the decoration of which represents fine stems of flowers and leaves mingling with sinuous foliage. Thus, other woods complete this set: rosewood, satin wood. The chest of drawers is underlined by a trim of gilded and chiseled bronzes in falling feet representing stylized scrolls, in openwork foot clogs and decorated with rocky foliage surmounted by a beribboned molding of a rod with leaves, in the keyhole embellished with of corbels and stylized foliage, apron consisting of an openwork and inverted shell surmounted by a winding framed by two branches of roses. A single lock closes the two drawers. The chest of drawers is surmounted by a marble in breccia from Aleppo molded with a beak of corbin, following the perimeter of the piece of furniture Stamped Brice Peridiez (master before 1738) Period Louis XV Usual restorations, broken marble having been reglued H. 88 x L. 128 x D. 63 cm Brice Péridiez is a quality cabinetmaker.
