Rare kabuto In saiga-bachi (saiga school) brown lacquered iron, zunari shape with eight plates zaboshi (riveted), the top of the helmet is composed of plates forming a stylized chrysanthemum. Fukigaeshi are made of buckskin with golden copper and a katabami mon. One of the fukigaeshi has a rare right flap which is hinged in order to fold forward and facilitate the archer when drawing the string of his bow.
The itamono-shikoro is four-tiered with sugake odoshi lacing in yellow braid. The maedate is made of gilded metal in the shape of a bonji (Sanskrit character).
Late Momoyama period or early Edo 16/17th century.
