Keller et Guérin, Small clock in Hector Guimard's style

Long mistakenly attributed to Hector Guimard, the complex forms of the metallic decorations, asymmetrical, moving and continuous, have a real elegance and strongly evoke Guimard's style. However, it has a more naturalistic appearance, evoking more of a crisscrossing branch pattern, moving away from Guimard's decorative motifs at all stages of his stylistic evolution.
These cases are special orders placed with a ceramist. One of the known examples belonged to the collection of the Macklowe Gallery in New York (2004). Its note gave the provenance of the case as the faïencerie Keller & Guérin, a large artistic ceramic factory in Lunéville, near Nancy. Another example was sold at Ader at the Hôtel Drouot on June 14, 2013.
The small hanging chain is missing. The mechanism is complete but has not been revised.
