Pieter Hermansz Verelst was a Dutch Golden Age painter. Three of his sons, Simon, Herman and Johannes Verelst also became painters. He was a member of the Dordrecht Guild of Saint Luke and in 1656 was co-founder of the Confrerie Pictura society in The Hague. The artist made portraits, still lifes and genre scenes with peasant scenes.
