Offered by Galerie Orely's
Plate in earthenware of MOUSTIERS, octagonal form with polylobed edge. Decoration in green and ochre bichromy with the great fire, known as "With the grotesques", in the center of the basin, three terraces representing:
- A seated shepherd, holding his stick, a dog lying at his feet on a terrace with trees.
- A long-nosed character, dressed in a cape and a feathered hat, playing the mandolin, his dog sitting at his side.
- Two birds with long beaks, intertwined.
On the wing, three flowery mounds, interspersed with leafy stems. Green line bordered with ochre nets on the edge of the wing.
Period : End of the first half of the 18th century.
Workshop : OLERYS & LAUGIER (OL mark in ochre on the back).
Decorator : Claude CHAIX (Mark C in ochre on the reverse), apprentice at OLERYS in 1746, painter from 1748 to 1761.
Very good general condition, small chips on the edge of the wing, no restoration.
