The portrait, long attributed to Guido Reni, is kept in the Barberini Palace in Rome. Achille LEONARDI, who is known to have been active in Rome between 1830 and 1860, was very impressed by this painting, of which he made several copies, and took it up line by line to include it in this composition, also executed in several copies in different sizes.
We don't know to what corresponds the 4-Fontane 17; undoubtedly an address in Rome
