Mounting in matt gold plated brass and polished gold.
Cap with frieze of seeds and dome enhanced by a lion's head, slightly inclined towards the front and short tail chiseled with oak leaves and a large palmette, engraved on the edge, token of devotion.
Wooden handle covered with double silver filigree.
Joint bow with chiseled and engraved median ring of scrolls.
Small secondary branch decorated in suite regrouping the tray in the same plane.
Oval tray finished by a flower and small leaf.
Fully chiseled corolla-shaped ferrule.
Curved quillon, chased with decoration in suite.
Blade called half-spade, with hollow sides and gutter at the top. Very richly decorated on the two-thirds of gold engraving on bluish background: bundles of arms, allegory of the Victory holding a laurel wreath of trophies and two long cartouches: "Liberty, Public Order" on one side and "National Guard" on the other.
Finished on the remaining half third of a foliage and flower engraving. The back is engraved with motifs that symbolize laurel leaves.
Leather scabbard with two fittings, monogrammed hooked cap, engraved: "Offered by the Company of Voltigeurs of 2nd B.[ataillon] of the 3rd Legion of the National Guard of Paris to Mr. Louis Chalot Captain Commander April 13, 1833".
Chiseled knob shoulder strap, two gold with rich rooster decoration.
