Rectangular pendant in 18 karat gold. Restoration period, hallmark of Paris 1819-1838. It hinged on an openwork grid decorated with flowery foliage. At the time, it contained a small sponge soaked in ammonia salts, hence the name Viniagrette. Subsequently, the ladies deposited perfumes there to escape the bad ambient odors of the streets. The cover is centered with a three-layered cameo decorated with an antique woman's profile. The sides are decorated with arabesques. 3.5 cm X 3 cm Weight: 10.3 g
