Guillaume Dupré was a French medalist and sculptor who engraved medals for the kings Henri IV, Louis XIII and Louis XIV. First sculptor of the king from 1611, he learned engraving during his training as a sculptor, which distinguished him from the medalists of his time by the importance of the relief given to his medals. He also made his own castings and produced pieces of exceptional quality and finish.
