Pair of flintlock pistols, MOULARD DUFOUR system

Steel, iron, brass, wood, gold.
Total length 32 cm. Length of the barrels 19,4 cm. Caliber 15,2mm.
Rifled barrels, slightly blunderbussed at the mouths, with brass sights, tobacco finish, decorated with interlacing thunderbolts and marked on the upper sides: "CANON TORDU". Hallmark on the left side.
Gilt brass mounts and cases, and engraved on the left ribs:
"Pt. De sureté par brevet d'invention Moulard Dufour à St Etienne" and chiseled with a garland of foliage on the contours.
Dogs flat bodies, with swan necks; basins with pares sparks; springs struck with a star.
Crosses in drowning finely squared. Oval iron caps.
Iron rods, they are used as keys for the maintenance of the barrels assembled with hook.
Moulard Dufour (1820-1850) Manufacturer in St Etienne. Inventor of a system with trunk.
