In gilded and patinated bronze.
Restoration period, around 1820-1830.

This bar of hearth presents two sphynxes confronted at its ends, they rest on a base decorated with gilded bronze appliques with the attributes of the god Hermes: caduceus and winged helmet. A large antique scroll is attached to it.
