Rare And Exceptional Ushak (western Turkey, Central Anatolia Region) b 19th

Origin: rare and exceptional Ushak (West of Turkey, region of central Anatolia) Design and decoration reminiscent of the so-called LOTTO rugs Age: begin 19th century Dimensions: 265 x 121 cm Technical characteristics: wool pile on wool foundations. Observations: The name: Lotto Rug, refers to the inclusion of rugs with this motif found in the 16th century Venetian Italian Renaissance paintings by Lorenzo Lotto. The palette and the design of the designs and colors are reminiscent of the famous and extremely rare Lotto. Natural oxidations are proof of age. Description: terracotta red field decorated with three medallions made up of crab claws, small pyramids, hooks and geometrically stylized flower buds in the shape of diamonds surrounded by geometrically styled yellow gold palmettes and thistles. Triple borders including the main ruby with interlacing of branches of crenellated navy blue stems in twists in the shape of rams horns surrounded by beige and saffron flower bulbs in the shape of stylized candelabra.
