History -
Intended to arm the Indian guides, the Colt Navy-Army revolvers were the object of a particular order of the cavalry officers. They had Colt Army Model 1860 revolvers, cal. 44 and wanted their guides to have less powerful firearms. This is how the Colt Navy-Army model was born.
The Indians' relationship with firearms was not the same as that of the Europeans, so it became almost impossible to find one in perfect condition.
This Colt Navy-Army is in near mint condition, which is historically exceptional.
A similar gun is kept at the Cody Museum.
