The cylinder -
Six-chambered cylinder with six flutes and six locking notches, central percussion, fully engraved with foliate scrolls, numbers, hearts and stylized letters on a circled background. These later engravings were made by the master engraver David Wade Harris.

The carcass -
It follows the same engraved decoration. The three lines of dates of patent are affixed under the cylinder: PAT. Sept. 19. 1871

Engraved trigger guard with solar symbol, marked 44CF. Bolt carrier numbered 6091.

The barrel-
Round barrel decorated in continuation. Among the hemmed foliage are the formulas "22P", "TI", the infinity symbol and, on the top of the barrel, a cartouche stating: "Colt's PT.F.A.MFG.Co Hartford Ct. USA". Numbered en suite 87791. Extractor rod attached to the right side of the barrel.

David Wade Harris -
Master engraver born in 1963 in Texas, David W. Harris has worked on the ornamentation of these prestigious guns for nearly 30 years. The engraving on steel is carried out in several stages: delimitation of a zone which one comes to coat with beeswax then talc, the drawing is carried out then in the white powder, chisels, hammer and chisel come then to dig the released zones.

Fitting in plates of andouiller, blue screws, frames of stick signed "DW Harris" and numbered 87791.
