This elegant pair of bedside tables, made in Italy in the late 18th century in the neoclassical era, has a wooden structure paved with walnut wood finely inlaid with the use of different wooden essences, including boxwood, such as to create refined chromatic games.
The floors are decorated with inlays that create reserves and decorations with geometric motifs, while in the center, inscribed in a circular frame, are represented still life floral. The same geometric and compositional motifs are reproduced at the expense of the lateral surfaces and in the lower central portion. In the latter, in the centre are depicted a torch woven with a quiver and arrows with ribbon and leaf branch. In the upper part the inlays create a decoration with a phytomorphic subject, with at the center the opening handle of the chiselled bronze door and golden. The uprights of the cabinets are also inlaid with decorative elements of classic taste. The four legs are shaped like an inverted pyramid trunk and the two front legs are enriched with inlays frontally.
These nightstands can also be used as cabinets in other environments such as living rooms or studies, interspersed with dressers or consoles. Refined and decorative, they are pleasant combined with antique furniture and contemporary furniture.
