Central-southern Italian school painting of the seventeenth century depicting figures of two elderly people in an interior;
one of the two figures is depicted in the act of cutting his nails with large scissors.
The scene, although domestic and intimate, acquires strength and expressive power thanks to a Caravaggio-like light coming from the left.
