This mahogany and mahogany veneer pedestal table is in line with tea tables, in particular that delivered around 1790 by Molitor for the Palace of Versailles. We find an identical spacer, only the different feet with a gadrooned bulge in the upper part instead of the caryatids.
Bernard Molitor (1755-1833), received master in 1787. Installed in the Arsenal until 1788, then rue Neuve du Luxembourg (now rue de Lille), he carried out several commissions for the Court. Creditor of the old civil list at the fall of the monarchy, he worked during the Empire after settling on Boulevard de la Madeleine.
