A large Japanese patinated and gilded bronze okimono depicting Ebisu one of the seven Shichifukuji Gods dancing with a fan and balanced on one leg. The dark patina robes are decorated with gold details, while the details of the face, hands and feet are in mixed metal.
Signed Yoshimitsu within rectangular reserve.
Ebisu is the god of prosperity and wealth in business and the fullness and abundance of crops, cereals and food in general.
Meiji period second half 19th century
Sizes: only the bronze is 43 x 27 x 15 cm, with the base 59×35×30 cm.
