Virgin of Trapani - 15th/16th century

This Virgin and Child, made of alabaster, comes from the south of Italy. She is dressed in a mantle with precise details, showing the rounded "V" folds on the left side. This precision of detail is also found on the faces of the characters, whose finesse recalls the Madonna of Trapani, sculpted by the artist Nino Pisano in the 15th century.
