Saverio Persico is a painter of Neapolitan origin also known as Xaverio. Despite the limited biographical information, it is plausible that he was a pupil or influenced by the work of Francesco Solimena. He has worked in several cities in southern Italy, such as Naples, Chieti, Nocera dei Pagani, Gravina di Puglia, Ariano Irpino and Sant'Agata dei Goti, where he decorated the cathedral's winter choir. Oil on canvas, depicting a religious scene of the Virgin's encouragement. Signed and dated "Xave Persico fecit 1766" on the back of the canvas. This exceptional work needs to be restored. Dimensions: 66x92 cm.
