So-called “corsair” chest in clad and riveted iron.
Under the lid there is a complication lock with nine pins. There is also a small interior box on the left.
This chest has large carrying handles on the sides.
The facade is adorned with a false keyhole.
Very nice original key.

Historical annecdote :
The city of Nuremberg specialized in mechanical crafts.
Traditionally these chests were embarked on ships. They were fixed to the floor in the commander's room. Inside it was deposited goods, papers and instruments of navigation, or a treasure.
