A Rectangular chest in ash wood veneered in amboyna burl with brass inlaid angles.
It closes with a steel key with a trefoil barrel, and reveals a whole set of compartments and boxes made of ash, allowing to hold papers, jewelry, money and precious objects.
One of the compartments located in the bottom of the cabinet can be closed using a second steel key.
The lid of the box is decorated with an escutcheon engraved with the monogram AMC.
The sides of the safe are fitted with two long screws, who allow the safe to be fixed on the top of a table, in the floor of a car, a bedroom or of a cupboard, so that it can't be stolen.
Empire, Paris around 1810
