Very pretty bronze with beautiful black patina and gold inlays of a monkey showman (sarumawashi) standing on a chiseled and original bronze base whose feet are carved in the shape of a shishi. He carries his monkey on his shoulder and a fan in his hand. At his side a child seems to offer an apple to the monkey. The whole is of high quality of carving and finesse. It is signed under the plinth in a rectangular Ryu Sen Zyu cartouche. Work to bring together the workshops of Miyao. Period: Meiji late 19th century. Total height with base: 46 cm. Character height: 31 cm.
