A 19th century Fijian bow pole club in hardwood of tapering cylindrical form with a rounded pointed end and a zigzag carved grip . Made out of a tree planted by the forefathers of the first owner to obtain this massive object . The heavy two-handed war club was the favourite weapon of the Fijian warrior and consequently one of the most widely used on the battlefield. The clubs were symbolic embodiments of power and status as well as practical deliverers of destruction.
