Delightful japanese lacquer box for incense of a mandarin duck shaped of the Kin-fundame type (matt golden base of high density with fine gold powder), garnished with an oval gold lacquer plate. Nashiji (gold background with a grainy surface reminds of the peel of Japanese pear) inside the box. It presents a charming little interior plate decorated with Kiku (chrysanthemum). Glass inclusions for the eyes and black lacquer for the pupils. Delightful craft for the bird's plumage.
