Beautiful and large clock in white marble and ormolu in the mid-19th century Louis XVI style. The circular movement is crowned with a winged love on clouds
holding a torch and a garland of flowers, it rests on a marble plinth placed on
two spaniels lying on a large terrace. The whole is supported by six spinning feet.
The white enamel dial is signed: Lépine A Paris Place des victoires,2; It features Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic for the minutes.
The mechanism in working order is signed Lépine and numbered 26284, with a bronze medal stamp. Magnificent original gilding.
An identical model from the Louis XVI period is reproduced in the Encyclopédie de la pendule française de Pierre Kjellberg page278
