A rare small table in precious wood marquetry with patterns on the four sides of vases and flowers in tinted sycamore and maple on a satin background.
The top rises and reveals four small compartments. A mirror is inserted at the back of the tray. The sides are each provided with two doors which, when raised, form shelves.
The lower doors reveal a storage space. It rests on four faceted curved legs joined by a scalloped crotch shelf forming a basin and fitted with a side drawer. The feet end with chiseled and gilded bronze hooves.
The front is adorned with a removable writing desk adorned with red morocco leather with small irons.
This ingenious little table is a book table, dressing table and writing table.
Stamped DUBUT, Jean François DUBUT French cabinetmaker received Master in 1755.
