A red porcelain brush pot affecting the shape of a bamboo stump decorated with sages in mountainous and lakeside landscapes dotted with dwellings, signed pu quan zhenwan and xianyuan chen guozhi zuo, and with a shangao shuichang mark, China, Daoguang period, 19th century. In excellent condition.
This brushpot obviously belongs to a series also produced in white and yellow and probably also in lime green and turquoise, all with slight differences since it is a carved and not molded decoration, this which forced the artist each time to sign a unique and different work from the same frame. For a similar brush pot bitong but in yellow see Christie's London, May 14, 2019, lot 168 (sold £ 52,500).
