Magnificent quail as an incense burner in bronze, yellowish bronze with dark color patina, very well gilding. With the head turning back, eyes inlaid, finely and precisely carved the details on its fur and feet. Removable wings with carved holes from where the incense spreads out. An inscription “Kamejo” under the base. Kamejo is a goldsmith in Nagasaki in the late Edo period well known for her creations of bronze quails.
