Two statuettes of children in Turkish clothes in Meissen porcelain with polychrome decoration. Model of J.J. Kandler.
Marked with crossed swords in blue and in hollow 25 on both.
Circa 1756-1760. 18th century.
Height : 13,3 cm and 13,5 cm.
Hand of the young girl restored, her arm glued back, small chips and small missing restored on both.

A watercolor depicting eight Turkish children (including the two shown here) was supplied by the Parisian dealer Gilles Bazin to the Meissen Manufactory in 1756 (published by J. Weber, von Moskau bis Lusabon, in Keramos no.212, p.8, ill.2 (2016).
