This magnificent mask is a unique testimony of the Sican/ Lambayeque culture. The powerfuls Lords of the valley amassed a great number of objects of precious metal, shell, feathers or cotton. In addition to ceramics, 5 masks like this one were placed on the mummy : 1 on the face and 4 stacked at the feet.
