Modenese Bureau measuring 115 x 150 x 60 cm from the mid-18th century in walnut, walnut briar and fillets.
This piece of furniture is a prestigious model of the typical Modenese production of moved flaps that stood out in Emilia for the creativity and imagination of the cabinetmakers.
The production of these elements, albeit limited to a small area, represents a milestone in the evolution of the Emilian tradition.
The detachment from the light Venetian forms is evident, as well as the unmistakable trait of the regional body is modulated in very harmonious forms in the movement strangled by the flattening that separates the drawers from the upper part, this revival tends to accentuate the sense of proportion with a double frame and double move .
The lower part connected to supports has the task of lightening the façade by harmonizing everything with the legs. This flap has a curvilinear profile derived from the Venetian models, from which it is distinguished instead by the more pompous layout.
The decoration is sober and remains anchored to the Modenese tradition with rectangular mirrors centrally and square laterally limited by strong borders and with very clear and linear threads even if of great elegance and thickness.
This furniture, still in its first patina and in excellent condition, comes from a private home.
