Tahan Jean-Pierre-Alexandre, born in Paris(1813 - 1892). It is under his impulse that the house Tahan took a great extension and became one of the most famous in Paris. He was one of Napoleon III's appointed cabinetmakers, and continued like his father to make boxes, necessities and caskets; but he became above all the specialist of small precious furniture. He took part in all the exhibitions from 1849 to 1867; he obtained a silver medal in 1849, a second class medal in London in 1852 and the gold medal in 1867. In 1865, at the exhibition organized by the Central Union of Fine Arts, he received a medal for the many and varied aspects of his exhibition: luxury cabinet making, boxes, frames etc.....
