Our painting from the same series is a rare subject for the painter. Most of his compositions are essentially composed of animal scenes: stags, hinds, roe deer, wild boars, pheasants, partridges.
Several of his paintings can be found in the museums of Amiens, Le Havre de Cambrai and Vernon.
G.F Rötig was a student of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and that there were as teachers Jules Lefebvre, Jean-Pierre Laurens and Benjamin-Constant; he received several awards at the Salon of French artists (notably in 1903) and, in 1913, the Rosa-Bonheur Prize.
