A deep dish decorated with a Qilin in a garden, the border decorated with friezes of flowers, reign of Wanli, 16th century.
The qilin is a variety of chimera with a dragon's head, a scaly quadrupedal body, goat paws, and a bushy tail. This Chinese fabulous animal was the protector of Buddha and he had the ability to walk on the ground without trampling any insects or living things.
Except an old repair to a shallow border chip, the dish is in very good condition.
