A sancai tile representing Guandi on his horse, Ming dynasty, 17th century

A beautiful tile in three-color glaze (sancai) representing the former general Guan yu or Guandi with his mesh rib, the Taoist and Buddhist deity of warrior bravery and loyalty in ancient China. Late Ming Dynasty, 17th century. Custom-made Chinese wood stand of later period. A chip under an elbow, otherwise in very good condition.
