This superb triple evolution sofa "à la Reine" is made of finely carved natural beech wood. It rests on eight curved legs ending with a scroll.
The flat backrest and seat are violined, richly decorated with flowers, foliage and acanthus leaves. The deep and nervous molding, as well as the balance of the curves, corroborates the prestigious stamp of Louis Cresson. This carpenter in seat, master in 1738, is indeed one of the best sculptors of his time with a thorough and precise work. He used the most beautiful beech wood, which contributed to the quality of his production. This sofa undoubtedly owes its exceptional state of preservation to the first choice of beech wood used. There is no "enture" or modified crossbeam to report. A few wormholes that are not active do not alter the solidity of this seat.
