Works of art, sculptures and furniture Haute Epoque
This lovely small frame in carved, gilded and polychrome wood was made in Italy in the 16th century, during the Renaissance period.
This frame is richly decorated with garlands of flowers, scrolls and ornaments, topped by two winged cherubs holding a putti head and a shield, where there was a coat of arms. In all, twenty cherub heads are shown, and two caryatids standing vertically on either side support the frame.
The symmetry of the decoration, the meticulous attention to detail, its state of preservation, and the original polychromy make this frame rare and interesting.
