A Louis XV ormolu-mounted tulipwood and amaranth bureau plat a transformation.
Paris mid 18th century.
The serpentine shaped sliding top with a central cartouche, opening centrally to reveal a tooled leather writing surface above a shaped frieze opening by two side drawers on cabriole legs headed by foliage and terminating in pierced foliate sabots.
A similar desk is housed in the collection of MAD Paris
Inv. N° 21119, bequest of the late condessa de Valencia de Don Juan in 1918.
