Sizeable Egyptian blue glazed faience wedget-eye amulet. The wedget-eye or eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power, and good health. Egyptian faience was popular and widely used for small objects like scarabs and other forms of amulets, jewelry and small size statuettes and cosmetic vessels. Egyptian faience is a sintered-quartz ceramic coated with vitreous glazing.
