Dutch painter of German origin
Strasbourg 1601 – 1658 Utrecht
Still life with a Roemer glass, plums, grapes and acorns on a ledge
Oil on panel : 69,2 X 55,0 cm
Frame : 81,2 X 66,7 cm
This middle 17th century painting is an excellent example of the adaptation to Dutch still life painting that our German-born (Strasbourg was in those days a German town) Johannes Bouman has made, away from the art of Stoskopff, towards the Utrecht art of van der Ast and the Boscchaerts.
