The inscription written in devanagari script means: “The elephant destroyer of enemies, seven trunks high, lord of the topknot, maker of great noise [...] and his long tusks are terrifying [...]”.

The back bears the inscription: “Elephant Aridalan, Crusher of enemies, Seven feet high, Kishangarh ca.1770”.
