A late gothic oak carved group depicting the Nativity. Mary and Joseph are depicted kneeling in the stable, behind them the ox and the donkey graze. The child in his manger is missing and was originally removable and only added to the statue on Christmas Day to celebrate the birth of Christ. The oak has retained remains of the original polychrome paint.
Utrecht. Circa 1475-1500.
