Polychrome porcelain from the Chantilly factory, adorned with chiseled and gilded bronzes
Sinuous in shape and polylobed on the sides, this inkwell presents on its tray a decoration of braces delimited by framing nets and trellises containing quatrefoils on a blue background. It rests on two legs of stylized azure rockeries as well as on a style of small octagonal bowl with so-called "Kakiemon" motifs and adorned with a character traversing a tiled floor around which insects evolve on a white background, all resting on a very small foot.
It is adorned with chiseled and gilded bronzes such as the molded frame, the circular buckets with lids - one is openwork - and their buttons as well as the octagonal main bucket, a shell-shaped apron flanked by windings and palms. , then on the other side, a longer apron with a small cartouche, valance and foliated volutes.
