Mask representing a human face with a symbolically disproportionate nose and raised eyebrows. Its mouth and open eyes give it a beautiful and timeless expression.

The Sultepec developed their own lapidary art, associated with the cult of the ancestors.

They have carved faces in a wide variety of white stone, yellow onyx, crystalline limestone from stalagmites in caves, white or translucent green aragonite. And, a few rare specimens have been carved in black obsidian, extracted from quarries near the Sultepec volcano.
