European Works of Art from the Middle Ages to the XVIIIth century
A gilt bronze relief of the Pieta, attributed to Jacob Cornelis Cobaert after a design by Guglielmo della Porta, Rome, ca. 1569.
A plaquette of the Virgin with the dead Christ. The Virgin sits with her head inclined to the left and supports a naked figure of Christ. His head is bent down over her knee and his right arm stretched out.
There is a similar example attributed to Cobaert at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D. C, the best example of this production.
